Cando Pacific Advisors supports its clients on international business development, strategic alliance and investment, focusing on Japanese market. Its principal, Chako Ando, CPA, has advised her clients in the following areas:
· Japanese market business development, strategy and market research
· Cross-border strategic alliance, strategic investment and M&A, including transactions related to Japan
· Business planning, strategy and business development for Japanese clients in the U.S. market
Chako Ando was born and grew up in Japan and attended a Japanese college, where she majored in English and International Relations,before moving to the United States to obtain a graduate degree at Stanford University. She is a native Japanese speaker with excellent communication skills in Japanese and is very fluent in both spoken and written English.
Chako is an experienced management and financial professional. After obtaining an MBA from Stanford, where she concentrated in finance, she had ten years of experience in senior positions at Japanese investment commercial banking firms.
From 1997 to 1999, Chako was with The Industrial Bank of Japan in San Francisco, initiating and overseeing the Bank’s venture capital fund investment program. Prior to that,Ms. Ando was a vice president at Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets, where she managed the Credit Control Department. From 1989 to 1993, Ms. Ando was a vice president of Mergers and Acquisitions at Daiwa Securities America. In both Daiwa and Sumitomo, Ms. Ando worked for transactions in various industry sectors, including IT, medical, food, manufacturing, materials andfinance. Ms. Ando also has a solid analytical knowledge of technology companies performance, having been in the management role of an Internet brokerage technology company, a founder of an open-source software company and consultants to various Silicon Valley technology companies.
Ms.Ando holds a BA from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and an MBA from Stanford University. Other coursework includes software product management, project management, software programming(C) and E-Commerce Business and Technology. She is also a CFA Charter holder.
